The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a warning to the public about the risks of pirating and providing lifts to strangers in private vehicles. This alert follows a recent robbery incident that took place on August 30, 2024, at the Rera Shops area along the Harare-Bulawayo Road.
In this case, a motorist driving a Nissan Sunny was robbed of US$2000 by two individuals whom he had offered a lift from Chegutu to Harare. The ZRP advises the public to exercise caution and avoid picking up passengers who may pose a security threat.
Anyone with information related to this incident is urged to report it to the nearest police station.
