 A Zvishavane man has appeared before the Zvishavane Magistrate court facing charges of robbery as defined in section 126 of the criminal law codification and reform act chapter 9.26.

It was the state’s case that on the 10th of July 2021 at Lundi business centre under Chief Mapanzure, Zvishavane the accused Tinotenda Kenias Sibanda followed Knowledge Gunda who was going to the shops and hugged him from behind and searched his pockets.

The court heard that he took US$30 and 100 rands belonging to the complainant and none was recovered.

The complainant was later arrested after 3 days after he was positively identified by the complainant at Lundi business centre.

The Zvishavane Magistrate found the accused guilty and remanded him in custody while checking previous charges and he will be sentenced on the 14th of July 2021.
