Zvishavane Woman Jailed 8 Months For Negligent Driving

A Zvishavane woman has been sentenced to 8 months in prison after she was found guilty of negligent driving and driving without a licence.

It was the State’s case that on 21 December 2020 around 0830 hours , the accused Wish Vushe (34) lost control of her vehicle hitting and injuring two children Lenear Moyo and Brighton Mugandani.

Vushe was facing charges of negligent driving under Section 52(2) of the Road Traffic Act Chapter 13:11 and driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s licence as defined in Section 6(a)(i) of the Road Traffic Act Chapter 13:11.

Zvishavane magistrate slapped Vushe with the four-month jail term on the first count and ordered her to pay ZW$10 000 fine . On the second count of driving without a valid drivers licence Vushe was ordered to pay ZW$50 000 or serve four months in prison.
