Local cement suppliers have assured the public that the current supply of cement is more than sufficient to meet demand.
Speaking to Great Dyke News, Nkosana Mapuma, PPC’s Head of Marketing and Sales, highlighted that the company has both the supply and capacity to exceed the country’s cement needs.
Mapuma noted that PPC has resolved previous maintenance issues, significantly boosting their production capabilities. The company now has the capacity to produce 1.4 million tonnes annually from its factories in Harare and Bulawayo.
He emphasized the importance of supporting local cement manufacturers, citing the benefits of reliable technical support. Mapuma warned that imported cement might leave customers without assistance when issues arise, reinforcing the value of trusting and purchasing from local suppliers.
With the improved production and ongoing commitment to quality, PPC aims to strengthen the local market and ensure sustainable growth within the cement industry.
