FC Platinum is set to host Ngezi Platinum Stars this Saturday at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane, in what promises to be a significant clash between the current table-toppers and the second-placed defending champions. However, despite the high stakes, FC Platinum’s head coach Norman Mapeza insists that this game will not decide the title.
Speaking to Great Dyke News Mapeza acknowledged it’s a massive game for Pure Platinum Play.
He indicated that preparations have gone well despite missing a few key players
Emphasizing the importance of the team’s mentality, Mapeza said, “This game is all about mentality. If anybody wins this game, it doesn’t mean that’s the end of the competition. What I expect is for the guys to really push.”
Reflecting on a similar situation in 2018, Mapeza recalled, “We were on top of the log as well. We went to Ngezi, managed to win 2-1, but it didn’t change anything.” He noted that while the points are important, they are just part of a longer journey, with 15 more games to go this season.
