The Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Development Minister Dr. Anxious Masuka has called on Zimbabwean youth to embrace local opportunities and focus on developing the country, urging them to reject the notion that success can only be found abroad.
Speaking at the joint celebration of Ya FM’s 9th Anniversary and Palawani Lakeworld Resort’s 3rd Anniversary on Saturday, Dr Masuka emphasized the importance of heritage-based education and local innovation. The two are part Merjkh Holdings.
Dr. Masuka praised the dedication, passion, and commitment Merjkh Holdings, which he said should serve as an inspiration for other young people in Zimbabwe. He urged youths to focus on opportunities at home rather than looking abroad for success.
“Many people look for opportunities elsewhere, believing that those outside the country think better than them,” Dr. Masuka said. “But thinking must be contextual, and that’s why we introduced the heritage-based education 5.0 to focus on developing our country using the resources we have as descendants of Munhumutapa.”
The Minister highlighted the importance of national self-reliance and called on Zimbabweans to embrace innovation and development that align with the country’s unique heritage and circumstances.
Dr. Masuka expressed optimism about Zimbabwe’s future, pledging to return in the near future to take stock of further developments. He underscored the vital role of youth in building the nation and championed the country’s collective responsibility to foster growth.
