The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of suspects or identification of an unknown woman found dead at Gaika Mine on 1 October 2024.
In a statement the ZRP Midlands said the body was discovered at around 0800 hours by Chrispen Mzembi, a security guard at the mine, while conducting routine perimeter checks. The woman, who was wearing a black top, beige brassiere, black and red shorts, and black shoes, was found lying face-up along a fire guard surrounding the mine.
Police reported visible bruises on the woman’s left hand and inner right thigh, and her upper lip was missing, raising suspicions of foul play. ZRP Kwekwe Central officers attended the scene and have launched an investigation.
