The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating the abduction of a seven-day-old baby girl in Kwekwe on December 4, 2024.
Speaking to Great Dyke News ZRP Midlands spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the incident occurred after the mother, Rumbidzai Gunhu (22), visited Kwekwe District Hospital for postnatal care. An unidentified woman offered to assist her by carrying the baby as they left the hospital.
On their way, the suspect gave Gunhu money to buy freezits. When Gunhu returned, the woman and the infant were nowhere to be found.
Police are urging anyone with information to report to the nearest station.
