President Emerson Mnangagwa has urged local authorities to consistently ensure the provision of reliable services for both businesses and the general public.

His remarks came during the commissioning of the Varun Beverages 6th and 7th phase Expansion project today, highlighting Zimbabweā€™s ongoing commitment to industrial growth and economic development.

The 7th phase of the expansion project, primarily focused on the snacks business, saw PepsiCo Holdings granting the franchise to Varun Zimbabwe for the manufacturing, distribution, and sales of Simba Munchiezā€”a popular PepsiCo snack brand. In his address, President Mnangagwa emphasized the countryā€™s robust economic performance over the past four years, stating, ā€œOver the past four years, Zimbabwe has been one of the better performing economies in the region.ā€

The event also featured the handover of Pepsi pushcarts to women at the Varun Beverages Plant. These pushcarts are intended to empower women by presenting entrepreneurial opportunities while growing the Pepsi business in Zimbabwe.

The Presidentā€™s initiative aligns with the governmentā€™s broader strategy to promote gender equality and womenā€™s economic empowerment.

As Varun Beverages embarks on this expansion, it marks a significant boost to the local economy, creating new jobs and business opportunities across the country.

Mnangagwaā€™s address reinforced the governmentā€™s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for investments and driving sustainable economic growth through such projects.
