The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) of Zimbabwe is targeting a 100% case clearance rate while prioritizing swift resolution of cases to address witness fatigue, a long-standing issue in the justice system.
Speaking at the opening of the 2025 Legal Year, Prosecutor General Justice Loice Mathanda-Moyo emphasized the collaborative effort required across the criminal justice system, involving complainants, police investigators, the Special Anti-Corruption Group (SAG), prosecutors, magistrates, judges, and the prison service.
Justice Mathanda-Moyo highlighted the NPAās success in 2024, noting a 98% conviction rate for murder cases in the Midlands Province, showcasing the authority’s commitment to delivering justice efficiently and effectively.
