A 33-year-old woman from Mapane Line in Tsholotsho, Natasha Ngwenya, has been sentenced to four years in prison after being convicted of theft at the Tsholotsho Magistrates’ Court.
Ngwenya was found guilty of stealing USD 8000 from a locked trunk belonging to her relative, Kitumetsi Moyo, who had left for South Africa in October 2024. Upon Moyo’s return in December 2024, she discovered the theft and reported it to the authorities.
Ngwenya’s actions were deemed to have breached the trust of her relative, with the court emphasizing the seriousness of the crime. She was sentenced to four years in prison, with no leniency given for the breach of trust within the family.
