The 8th edition of the Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke will run under three key pillars — Opportunity, Wellness, and Charity — reflecting the event’s growing impact beyond sport, organisers have said.
Speaking to Great Dyke News, tour spokesperson Moses Charedzera said the annual cycling event continues to create space for business collaboration and community development across the Great Dyke region.
“The Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke will create opportunities for businesses to identify areas for investment and forge partnerships that support growth within the Great Dyke,” Charedzera explained.
On the Wellness pillar, he said the event promotes healthy living by encouraging physical activity and collaboration with organisations in the health sector.
“The cycling event is a platform to ride for good health and to emphasise the importance of exercise. We also work closely with several partners in the health space,” he said.
Turning to Charity, Charedzera highlighted that proceeds from the Tour go to the Gifted Children Foundation, which supports talented but underprivileged children from the Great Dyke area with school fees and learning resources.
“Through the charity initiative, we are helping to give gifted children the best possible chance to succeed in life,” he added.
The three-day Tour, which has become a major event on Zimbabwe’s sporting and business calendar, continues to blend sport, social responsibility, and economic empowerment across the mining-rich Great Dyke corridor.
