All is set for “Beating Covid-19 Infections ” Virtual conference.

All is set for the much awaited firstĀ webinar in theĀ seriesĀ BeatingĀ Covid 19Ā InfectionsĀ to beĀ hosted by Yafm and Great DykeĀ TVĀ thisĀ Friday, the 29thĀ of January 2021Ā at 9am.

Ā YAFM Chairman Munyaradzi Hwengwere will moderate the discussion.

TheĀ virtual conferenceĀ which aims at finding solutionsĀ toĀ theĀ challenges posed by theĀ deadlyĀ pandemicĀ hasĀ been oversubscribed withĀ many stakeholdersĀ coming on boardĀ to takeĀ part. Ā 

Midlands Minister of State for ProvincialĀ Affairs andĀ DevolutionĀ Senator Larry Mavhima will deliver the keynote addressĀ at the event bringing together several medical experts.Ā 

TheĀ United Nations Ā represented by UNICEF Communications forĀ DevelopmentĀ Specialist Titus BonnieĀ MoetsabiĀ  is expected to present onĀ issues to do with PPE provision, surveillance and riskĀ communications,Ā maintenance of essentialĀ services, preparations and advocacy on vaccine including tacklingĀ misinformation about the vaccines.

Stakeholders within the mining sectorĀ will also beĀ taking part withĀ platinum producerĀ Mimosa beingĀ represented byĀ DrĀ BlessingĀ Garamumhango, Manager ClusterĀ Services.Ā 

Major partners include Cellmed and Nectacare which have been active in Zvishavane doing projects on how to fight covid 19.

Speaking to GreatDykeNews24, the groupā€™s Head ofĀ Marketing Ā ChamunorwaĀ Ā MhembereĀ said through their corporate social responsibility programme they have been assisting the Zvishavane community to fight covid-19.

ā€œWe have been providing doctors through Cellmed and Nectacare in Zvishavane to assist people with information on how to fight covid 19 and we have seen that it is important to invest through the Yafm covid 19 webinar in order to reach a larger audience,ā€ he said.

LancetĀ ClinicalĀ LaboratoriesĀ hasĀ alsoĀ partnered with YafmĀ withĀ CEO Dr CharlesĀ MurondaĀ among the panelĀ toĀ explainĀ how the covid-19Ā test processes are conducted as there has been a huge speculation on social media regardingĀ the integrity ofĀ some of theĀ tests.

Other partners include ZELA, which will be represented by itsĀ ProjectsĀ OfficerĀ NobuhleĀ Mabhikwa.Ā 

The role of traditional medicine in fighting covid-19 will also come under the spotlight with ZINATHAĀ Secretary forĀ Education Prince MutandiĀ slated to make a presentation.

Zimbabwe saw a huge surge in covid-19 infections and deaths during the festive season which led to government imposing alevel four of lockdown for thirty days.

The webinar will be streamed live on Yafm 91.8, Slymedia TV, 263chat, Zimeye Facebook pages.
