The Association of Mine Surveyors of Zimbabwe (AMSZ) is ramping up efforts to drive policies that prioritize safety, sustainability, and modern technology in Zimbabwe’s mining sector.
AMSZ President Gabriel Mwale highlighted the critical role of mine surveyors in policy development, emphasizing their contributions to safety standards, land-use planning, and environmental regulations. Mwale stressed the need to integrate surveyors’ expertise into decision-making processes, which he said is often overlooked.
“Our aim is to build a mining industry that balances profitability with responsibility and aligns with global best practices,” Mwale said. “By influencing policies, we can promote long-term growth, sustainability, and transparency in the sector, benefitting both the economy and future generations.”
