Zimbabwe Alloys (ZimAlloys), once a fading name in the mining industry, is redefining its role in the sector w.ith a dynamic resurgence.
In a recent media briefing in Gweru, Managing Director Deric Dube outlined a transformative phase for the company, highlighting its substantial recovery and future ambitions.
He said after an 11-year shutdown, ZimAlloys has successfully reinstated its smelting operations. Dube reported that the company is currently producing approximately 8,000 metric tons of ferrochrome concentrates each month, marking a significant turnaround.
He indicated that this recovery is underscored by the reactivation of three chrome concentrator plants in the past year alone, which has nearly doubled the company’s production compared to the previous year.
