Residents of Chipadze in Bindura were alarmed Friday morning after floodwaters from Ran Mine surged into homes and churches following heavy rains. Concerned locals fear contamination from the mine’s water.
Ran Mine’s Corporate Affairs Manager, Jack Murehwa, assured residents that tests showed no chemical contamination, attributing the water to runoff. The Environmental Management Agency (EMA) is working with the mine to address safety concerns, ordering neutralization of affected areas.
