Caledonia Mining Discovers New High-Grade Ore Body at Blanket Mine

Caledonia Mining has announced promising results from its ongoing deep drilling program at the Blanket Mine in Gwanda, Zimbabwe, with the discovery of a new high-grade ore body and significant mineralization at depth.

Craig Harvey, the company’s Vice President of Technical Services, says the results confirm continuous zones of high grades and widths — not just isolated rich intersections. The new ore body does not align with any of the six known zones currently mined, suggesting untapped potential within the Blanket area.

Harvey explained that the drilling supports Caledonia’s strategy to maintain a rolling 10-year reserve life, critical for long-term planning and future expansion. Much of the current work is focused around the 34-level, over 1,100 metres underground, with continued drilling planned both deeper and laterally.

Drilling has also extended the Lima ore body below current levels, pointing to a potential new mining zone to the north.
Caledonia says the results validate its technical approach and outlook, strengthening the future of the Blanket Mine as it continues to develop Zimbabwe’s gold resources.
