Caledonia Mining Honors Miner`s 55 Years of Service at Blanket Mine.

Caledonia Mining Corporation has announced the retirement of Caxton Mangezi, Vice President of Zimbabwe Operations, after over 55 years of service. Joining Blanket Mine in 1969, Mr. Mangezi played a key role in its success, particularly as General Manager from 1993 to 2021.


Under his leadership, gold production soared from 20,000 ounces in 1993 to over 80,000 ounces in 2022. He also oversaw the completion of the Central Shaft project in 2021, increasing the mine’s depth and extending its life to 2041.

Nick Ncube, Chairman of Blanket Mine, and Mark Learmonth, CEO of Caledonia, praised Mr. Mangezi’s contributions and his impact on the Zimbabwean mining industry. Mr. Mangezi expressed gratitude for his tenure and wished the company continued success.
