A 24-year-old Ugandan national, Tom Ssekamwa, appeared before the Masvingo Magistrates’ Court on charges of violating the Censorship and Entertainments Control Act, alternatively criminal nuisance.
The State alleges that on August 1, 2024, police acted on a tip-off and searched Ssekamwa’s accommodation at Backpackers Rest Budget Accommodation in Masvingo. The search reportedly uncovered sex toys and men’s lubricant in his possession, leading to his arrest.
Ssekamwa is set to return to court tomorrow for his bail hearing.
