The Czech Deputy Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Michael Novak, has backed a bail application for his countryman, Lucas Slavik, at the High Court in Masvingo.Ā
Novak offered a surety, assuring the court that the embassy would provide Slavik with accommodation in Harare and guarantee that he would not abscond if released from remand.
Slavik, a tourist, was arrested for allegedly filming videos claiming a critical shortage of water and electricity in Zimbabwe. He faces charges of spreading falsehoods with intent to incite the public.
