Czech Embassy Backs Bail for Tourist Jailed Over ‘Water Shortage’ Video.

The Czech Deputy Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Michael Novak, has backed a bail application for his countryman, Lucas Slavik, at the High Court in Masvingo. 

Novak offered a surety, assuring the court that the embassy would provide Slavik with accommodation in Harare and guarantee that he would not abscond if released from remand.

Slavik, a tourist, was arrested for allegedly filming videos claiming a critical shortage of water and electricity in Zimbabwe. He faces charges of spreading falsehoods with intent to incite the public.
