FC Platinum’s quest for the Castle Lager Premiership title hit another snag as they were held to a 1-1 draw by ZPC Kariba on Matchday 25, played on Saturday.
ZPC Kariba took the lead in the 64th minute with a goal from Fanuel Shoko. However, FC Platinum salvaged a point with a last-minute equalizer from Wilfred Muvirimi. Despite the draw, the former champions now trail Simba Bhora by four points.
Simba Bhora maintained their lead at the top of the table with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bikita Minerals, courtesy of a first-half strike from Walter Musona.
In other Saturday fixtures, CAPS United played out a 2-2 draw with Greenfuel, while Bulawayo Chiefs and TelOne also shared the spoils in a 1-1 stalemate.
On Sunday Highlanders fell 1-2 to Herentals in a thrilling encounter. Herentals secured their win with goals from Gobvu and a second-half strike. Highlanders’ Lynoth Chikuhwa scored their sole goal.
Dynamos edged out Chegutu Pirates 1-0 with a goal from Alick Makarati, who also missed a penalty in the 35th minute.
Hwange defeated Chicken Inn 1-0, thanks to an early goal from Dominic Chiwunga.
