Freda Rebecca Gold Mine, Zimbabwe’s largest gold producer, is undertaking extensive exploration at its Bindura site to extend its operational life and increase processing capacity. Managing Director Patrick Maseva-Shayawabaya highlighted the need to extend the mine’s lifespan beyond the current five years to enable more confident planning.
As part of this initiative, parent company Kuvimba Mining House (KMH) plans to invest US$40 million into its gold operations, including Freda Rebecca, Shamva Mine, and Jena Mines, to enhance production and efficiency.
For the fiscal year ending March 2024, Freda Rebecca produced 104,000 ounces of gold, with a projected increase to 105,000 ounces in the current year.
