Government says it will soon introduce a monitoring programme for non-governmental organisations operating in the country to ensure the entities are sticking to their declared mandates.
Speaking in Harare this week the Head of State and Government President Emerson Mnangagwa said the Social Welfare and Home Affairs Ministry will lead the monitoring and those found wanting will be expelled.
There are currently more than a 1000 NGOs operating in the country focusing on an array of issues from food relief to environmental advocacy among other things.
