The Engineering, Iron, and Steel sector in Zimbabwe has shed thousands of jobs due to declining exports and operational challenges, according to the Engineering Iron and Steel Association of Zimbabwe President Chiedza Chigombe.
She revealed that employment in the sector has dropped from over 13,000 workers, citing unreliable electricity supplies and high energy costs as major hurdles.
