A 26-year-old man from Kwekwe has been remanded in custody after allegedly stabbing his 25-year-old wife three times with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on March 1, 2025, at the couple’s home in Mbizo, Kwekwe. The accused, who was reportedly intoxicated, fell asleep outside the house. When his wife attempted to wake him, he allegedly became aggressive, stormed into the house while shouting at her, and then charged towards her with a kitchen knife. The man allegedly stabbed his wife twice on the right leg and once on the buttocks, causing deep cuts.

Following his arrest, the accused appeared in court for an initial remand and was ordered to remain in custody until March 7, 2025, when he is expected to enter a plea.

The case highlights ongoing concerns about domestic violence in Zimbabwe, with authorities urging victims to report abuse and seek protection.
