A landmark High Court ruling granting pregnant children and survivors of marital rape the right to safe abortion has been hailed as a significant victory for women and girls’ rights in Zimbabwe.
Shamwari YeMwanasikana’s Executive Director, Ekenia Chifamba, welcomed the decision, describing it as a critical step towards protecting vulnerable groups.
She urged the government to align the Termination of Pregnancy Act with the new ruling to ensure comprehensive legal protection.
