A fifty-Two-year-old man from Murehwa, who had been admitted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals, last Friday suffering from malaria, has tested positive for Covid-19, becoming the countryās 32nd patient.
According to a statement seen by Great Dyke News 24, measures were being taken to ensure the safety of staff and other patients.
āAs part of the escalated mitigatory measures against Covid-19 which include active case finding through mandatory testing of frontline staff and admitted patients, a Covid-19 positive case which had been admitted for management of slide positive malaria on April 24, 2020 was identified at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals,ā said the mdical institution.
The statement added that āThe patient had responded well to malaria treatment and was due for discharge.ā
āTesting of frontline staff and admitted patients will continue and appropriate support rendered to those in need,” the statement further stated.
