Following a 1-1 draw against Ngezi Platinum Stars at Mandava Stadium, FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza emphasized the importance of consistency to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
Despite the draw, FC Platinum maintained a five-point gap at the top. Mapeza said what is important is for the team to make sure that they keep winning their games.

Reflecting on the match, Mapeza said, “If we had won, it wasn’t going to change anything in terms of where we were going to end up at the end of the season. But there are still 15 games to go. If they had won, it would have been the same situation. These games still need to be played. For us, having played them early is an advantage. They still have to face teams like Highlanders, Simba, and Dynamos before we meet those teams again. So, for us, it’s okay, we are done with them. Four points away from them is massive for us.”

He also acknowledged the challenge of maintaining momentum, adding, “If you keep winning your games, sometimes plans don’t go as expected. We’ve been winning our games, and they’ve been winning theirs. That’s why they are in second position and we are on top. If they remain consistent and keep the momentum, it might be like this at the end of the season.”

The draw keeps FC Platinum in a strong position as they aim to secure their fifth league title with continued focus on winning each game ahead.
