Students in Vuronga, Mberengwa, are appealing for infrastructure development as heavy rains continue to flood the Matedzi River, preventing them from attending school.
Students told Great Dyke News, students said the river, swollen by runoff from Mande Dam upstream, has become impassable, forcing learners to stay home. Many students from Chief Mataga and Chief Nyamhondo areas, who rely on the Vuronga-Garenyama road, are now stranded, watching helplessly as the raging waters cut off their route.
Concerned parents and community members are calling on authorities to construct a bridge to ensure uninterrupted learning and safe passage. Without urgent intervention, education in the area remains at the mercy of the rains.
