Midlands authorities have identified 57 drug hotspots and conducted 101 raids, leading to 379 arrests between January and October this year.

Midlands Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Minister Owen Ncube disclosed the figures at a National Committee on Drug and Substance Sub-National Structures Workshop in Kwekwe.

Ncube reported that 977 individuals were admitted for treatment, while over 1,900 drug users received counselling and caregiving support as part of the province’s efforts to combat drug and substance abuse. The crackdown aims to address the growing crisis and provide support to affected individuals.
