Players in the mining sector say the upcoming Mining Exhibition and Expo (MINEX) will play a critical role in strengthening Zimbabwe’s small-scale mining industry by promoting formalisation, investment, and knowledge sharing.

Speaking to Great Dyke News, Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) Midlands Provincial Chairman and Executive Director of the Zimbabwe Mining Safety, Health and Environmental Council (ZIMSHEC), Makumba Nyenje, said He said the expo usually focuses on key issues affecting miners, including safety, environmental compliance, access to capital, and the need to formalise operations, while also creating opportunities for partnerships and business growth.

The event will be held on 9 April 2026 at Gresham Grounds in Zvishavane, bringing together miners, government officials, financiers, and service providers under one platform. The minister of Mines and Mining Development Polite Kambamura will be the guest of honour.

The MINEX Expo is expected to attract over 300 small-scale miners from key gold-producing districts, alongside regulators and industry stakeholders, making it a key networking and learning platform for the sector.
