Residents of Gweru’s Mkoba suburb have called for the strengthening of neighborhood watch committees, emphasizing the need for better resource allocation to enhance their effectiveness in combating crime.
According to the residents, these community-driven initiatives are crucial in maintaining safety and security in their neighborhood.
“Our neighborhood watch committee has been doing an excellent job, but they need more resources to be truly effective,” said one resident. Another added, “If these committees are well-supported, they can significantly reduce crime in our area. It’s a community effort, and we all need to contribute.”
The residents believe that by empowering these committees with the necessary tools and support, they can play a pivotal role in creating a safer environment for everyone.
