Cyclists in the 2024 Nedbank Tour De Great Dyke are celebrating the sport not only for the thrill of a challenge and health benefits but also for the meaningful impact it brings to underprivileged children in the region. The tour, which spans 320 kilometers through Zimbabwe’s Great Dyke, offers participants a challenging ride amidst stunning landscapes while supporting educational funding for gifted youth.
Speaking to Great Dyke News, Mimosa Cycling Team Vice President Lloyd Shamhu expressed pride in being part of an event that benefits both cyclists and communities.
“It’s rewarding to know that proceeds from the tour go toward helping the underprivileged,” Shamhu said, highlighting the tour’s role in creating opportunities for youth.
Mimosa Cycling Club Captain Edson Mahaye also shared his thoughts on the personal benefits of cycling, noting its role in boosting immunity and overall health.
