The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed the murder of a 36-year-old man, Whatmore Chigabu, following an assault by two unidentified men at Ripporn B Village, Lalapanzi on December 9, 2024.
ZRP Midlands spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said the incident occurred around 4:00 PM when Chigabu encountered the suspects, Chamunorwa Sungisai and Tawanda Hungwe, along a footpath in the village.
Without provocation, the suspects attacked him with unknown objects, leaving him with serious head injuries. Chigabu lost consciousness at the scene and was initially taken to Mvuma District Hospital, before being referred to Gweru Provincial Hospital and later to UBH, Bulawayo, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police are appealing to the public for any information that could assist in locating the suspects responsible for this fatal assault.
