He added that the President is expected to outline the legislative agenda for the session running from October 2024 to October 2025, which will include several Bills currently before Parliament.
One key Bill is the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill, which was referred back to Parliament and is ready for gazetting.
Economist Dr. Prosper Chitambara said he hopes the address will emphasize the need to consolidate improvements in the ease of doing business and ensure Zimbabwe remains competitive for investment, while Kwekwe-based lawyer Mr. Valentine Mutatu called for a focus on policies promoting investment and resolving disputes in courts.
Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers president Mr. Denford Mutashu noted the need for more support from the Government, particularly in improving business conditions and revising policy measures like the current US$2,000 cash limit for travellers, which he believes hampers SMEs.
Political analyst Mr. Goodwine Mureriwa said he expects the President to focus on infrastructural development and provide momentum for the upcoming National Development Strategy 2.
