Kuvimba Mining House (KMH), Zimbabwe’s largest mining conglomerate, has announced plans to ramp up production to meet the growing demand for chrome.

Speaking to the media this week, Acting General Chief Executive Officer Trevor Barnard revealed that ZimAlloys is enhancing their operations by investing further in beneficiation processes.

Last September, KMH injected US$5 million into Zimbabwe Alloys (ZimAlloys), a leading ferrochrome producer in the country, as part of an ongoing effort to revitalize the company.

The Gweru smelting complex, operated by ZimAlloys, boasts three furnaces with a combined annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes. Management is working tirelessly to bring the firm back to full operational status.
