Stakeholders say it is important for the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to attain true independence, their demand, discussed during a Pre-Election Press Club dialogue, centers on empowering ZEC as an autonomous body, specifically geared towards the resolution of electoral disputes in Zimbabwe.
Addressing the forum, Nozipho Rutsatse, the Provincial Chairperson of the Woman Coalition of Zimbabwe (WCOZ), emphasized the criticality of a non-controlled ZEC. She advocated for the media’s active participation in disseminating accurate information to the public, serving as a pivotal means of resolving electoral contentions
