An 18-year-old from Chitungwiza has been convicted of forging ZIMSEC exam results in a desperate attempt to qualify for police recruitment.

Shamiso Pretty Bvukure of Murisa Park appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court, facing charges of contravening the Zimbabwe Examination Act.

The scam came to light on October 11, 2024, when the Police General Headquarters recruitment team requested verification of applicants’ certificates. It was discovered that Bvukure had altered her results slip to change key subjects—boosting Mathematics from U to C, English from U to B, Shona from E to A, and History from U to A. She also fraudulently added Commerce and Combined Science to the slip.
