The Zimbabwe Republic Police has confirmed a fatal road traffic accident that occurred on 05 April 2026 at the 11-kilometre peg along the Chivhu–Gutu Road.
According to police, a motorist driving a Toyota Hilux and carrying five passengers was heading towards Chivhu when he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle veered off the road to the right and overturned several times before landing on its wheels.
As a result of the crash, two people died on the spot, while four others sustained injuries.
The bodies of the deceased were taken to Chivhu General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
Police have urged motorists to exercise caution on the roads to help prevent further loss of life.
