Zimbabwe’s Minister of Information, Dr. Jenfan Muswere, has dismissed speculation about internal divisions within the presidency, assuring the public that the country’s leadership remains united and committed to achieving the government’s developmental targets.

“There is no vacancy in the office of the President,” Muswere declared, emphasizing that President Emerson Mnangagwa, who was democratically re-elected in 2023, continues to lead both the government and the ruling ZANU PF party.

Speaking ahead of the ZANU PF National People’s Conference, Muswere clarified that the event, scheduled under the theme “Mechanize, Modernize, and Grow the Economy towards Vision 2030,” is not an elective congress. He stressed that the party’s leadership structure is properly constituted, with no disruptions or shifts in positions.

“There is unity, love, and comradeship within the government and the presidency,” Muswere said, dismissing rumors of discord within the ruling elite. “The government is focused on alleviating poverty and creating a better future for the people of Zimbabwe.”

The Information Minister further reiterated that the administration remains steadfast in its commitment to achieving the country’s Vision 2030, which aims to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income society. “We are all rallying behind His Excellency, the President, as he leads the nation towards this goal,” he added.

Muswere also warned against misinformation and divisive narratives circulating on social media, characterizing such efforts as attempts to sow discord. “We remain unfazed by the misdirected energies of overzealous individuals peddling fiction online,” he said, adding that those spreading falsehoods will be dealt with under the law.

The National People’s Conference, he noted, will serve as a platform to strengthen the party’s focus on economic development, with leaders aligning efforts toward long-term national prosperity
