The National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe has emphasized the importance of safe sexual practices during the festive.
Speaking to Great Dyke News, Dennis Jaravani, the District AIDS Coordinator urged people to engage in protected sexual intercourse to mitigate the spread of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). While advocating for condom use, he highlighted that solely relying on condoms does not ensure complete safety, emphasizing the significance of abstaining from sexual activities.
Jaravani said NAC has initiated structures for distributing condoms known as “condom champions” in HIV hotspot areas, both urban and rural. These distribution efforts include educational components, conducting condom demonstrations, and promoting the significance of protected sex.
