The Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) board held a pivotal meeting with the YA FM Radio Station team, addressing key challenges faced by the station. The discussions involved the station’s management, staff, and interns, providing a platform for open dialogue and expert guidance.
YA FM’s Station Manager, Mr. Forbes Mugadza, described the meeting as highly successful, highlighting the board’s acknowledgment of areas where the Commission could enhance its support.
“The Commission recognized the gaps that exist in their capacity-building efforts and expressed a clear commitment to addressing them,” Mugadza stated.
Key issues raised during the meeting included funding, content regulation, and staffing. The ZMC board also commended YA FM for its inclusive approach, particularly in its collaboration with a visually impaired team member.
The board assured the station of support, committing to host three workshops aimed at equipping media executives and marketers with the necessary skills to navigate the evolving media landscape. “The Commission’s willingness to provide tailored training for our team is a significant step forward,” Mugadza added.
