As YA FM gears up to celebrate nine years of broadcasting on September 25th, Chief Ngungubani of Mberengwa has commended the station for its significant contributions to education and entertainment in the Great Dyke region. In an interview with Great Dyke News, Chief Ngungubani described YA FM as “a beacon of entertainment, information, and inspiration.”
While praising the station’s impact, Chief Ngungubani also called for an increase in local content, urging YA FM to broadcast in more local languages and promote the cultural heritage of the Great Dyke communities.
YA FM will mark its 9th anniversary with the YA FEST at Palawani Lakeworld Resort near Zvishavane on Saturday, September 28th. The celebration will feature an awards ceremony, musical performances by Killer T and other Great Dyke Artists, as well as various other activities to honor the station’s achievements.
