ZSE Targets Instantaneous Settlement to Attract Young Investors.

The Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) is making strides toward modernizing its operations by aiming to reduce the settlement cycle from T+3 to T+1, aligning with global standards. 

ZSE CEO Justin Bgoni revealed that the exchange is working on introducing day trading and faster settlement processes to appeal to younger investors, who are accustomed to the instantaneous transactions offered by cryptocurrency markets.

Bgoni acknowledged that the current T+3 settlement period is outdated and puts the ZSE at a competitive disadvantage. He noted that similar markets worldwide are moving toward shorter settlement cycles, and the ZSE is keen to keep pace with these developments to maintain its relevance and attract a new generation of investors.
