The Zimbabwe Republic Police have arrested a 19-year-old Bulawayo man for theft and tampering with ZESA installations.
According to the ZRP National Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the accused was caught red-handed charging 2 laptops from a ZESA power line where he had connected an adapter directly to the power cable.
“A 19-year-old Byo man, Lucky Ncube has been arrested for theft and tempering with ZESA installations.
“The accused was caught red-handed charging 2 laptops from a ZESA pole where he had connected an adapter directly to the power cable,” he said.
Assistant Commissioner Nyathi added that the two laptops had been reported stolen from a local school in Bulawayo.
“Further investigations revealed that the two laptops had been reported stolen by means of unlawful entry and theft at Luveve High School.
“The victim, a staffer at the said school positively identified the laptops. Investigations are in progress to recover outstanding stolen property,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
