Health and wellness are at the heart of Mimosa Mine`s involvement in the upcoming Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke, with employees eagerly preparing to take part in the 320-kilometer cycling event.
Speaking about the event, Dr. Tonderai Kwari, Wellness Coordinator at Mimosa Mine, emphasized the importance of cycling for fitness and mental well-being among employees.
“Mimosa has always supported this program not just as an event but as part of our broader wellness initiatives,” said Dr. Kwari. “Every Wednesday in June, our employees take time to cycle as part of their weight management efforts. Many of them are excited to participate in the Tour de Great Dyke.”
The Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke, scheduled to cover a distance of over 320 kilometers, will require participants to maintain peak physical fitness. Dr. Kwari noted that Mimosa Mine encourages employees to engage in activities like these, although participation demands rigorous preparation.
“This is not just a casual ride—one needs to train extensively over time to develop the stamina required to complete the tour,” Dr. Kwari explained. “Many employees are registering, and we expect more to join soon. The excitement is already building.”
The 2024 edition of the Nedbank Tour de Great Dyke will kick off in Selous, with cyclists riding through Zimbabwe’s mineral-rich Great Dyke region. The event, aimed at promoting health and fitness, also seeks to raise funds for underprivileged children while showcasing Zimbabwe’s commitment to wellness.
Mimosa Mine’s active involvement underscores its dedication to employee well-being and community participation. The event offers participants a platform to promote healthy lifestyles while engaging with the broader community for a good cause.
