Tapiwa Mbirimi, aged 35, will spend the rest of his life behind bars after being sentenced to an unprecedented 102 years in prison by the Harare Magistrates Regional Court.
Mbirimi’s shocking sentence comes after a spree of violent crimes that terrorized residents of Savanhu, Chitungwiza, in January 2023. Armed with a pistol, machete, and iron bar, Mbirimi targeted innocent civilians, leaving communities gripped with fear.
His heinous acts included attempted murder after he shot a victim with a pistol and armed robbery after he stole cash, cellphones, and other valuables from multiple victims.
