Minex Chairman Munyaradzi Hwengwere says the Zimbabwe Alternative Mining Indaba (ZAMI 2025) presents a vital opportunity for the country’s mining stakeholders to engage in dialogue and chart a collective path toward sustainable development.

Speaking on the sidelines of the 14th edition of the Indaba, which opened in Bulawayo on Monday, Hwengwere emphasized that conversations around the extractive sector remain critical, particularly as Zimbabwe positions itself in the global just energy transition.

Underlining the need for inclusive participation in shaping the sector’s future he said “There is still a lot for communities, government and other stakeholders to learn about the transitional minerals.”

Running from 15th to 19th September at the Holiday Inn, the Indaba is being held under the theme “From Extraction to Sustainable Development: Unlocking Zimbabwe’s Mineral Wealth for Inclusive Growth in the Just Energy Transition.”
The event was officially opened by Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development Polite Kambamura.

ZAMI, now in its 14th year, continues to serve as a key platform for dialogue between communities, industry, and government on the country’s mining value chain.
