Buy Zimbabwe has urged consumers to take part in their 10th anniversary promotion meant to create awareness of local brands and drive volume sales for locally manufactured products.
Speaking to Great Dyke News 24, Buy Zimbabwe General Manager Alois Burutsa said the promotion is part of their ten year celebrations adding that they will be carrying out various activities that include hosting the Buy Zimbabwe ten year anniversary awards on the 12th of May 2021.
“Buy Zimbabwe is turning 10 this year. We are so excited to achieve this milestone and will look forward to another ten years of promoting the production and consumption of Zimbabwean goods and services.
“We could not have attained this milestone without the support of our members, the government, consumers, the media and many other critical stakeholders.
“We would like to say a big thank you for all the support that we have been given and continue to get as Buy Zimbabwe.
“In addition, we are going to have a Buy Zimbabwe tenth anniversary promotion throughout various selected retail and wholesale chains,” he said.
He also said that the promotion is open for Buy Zimbabwe members adding that those who are not yet members are welcome to join and take part in the promotion.
“So far the retailers and wholesalers that have confirmed participation in the promotion include Spar Zimbabwe, Gain Cash and Carry, Bon Marche, Ok Mart, N Richards and Mohammed Mussa wholesalers.
“We are still talking to a number of retailers including Choppies, TM Pick n Pay, and Metro Peech among others.
“We have realized that consumers play an important role in the success of the Buy Zimbabwe campaign, and the retail and wholesalers sector is the link that connects manufacturers to the consumers.
“The main objective of the promotion will be to try and create awareness for the Buy Zimbabwe campaign among the general public and to drive volume sales for locally manufactured products.
“We are also appealing to the public to come and enjoy give aways that will be provided by our suppliers taking part in the promotion to generally celebrate ten years of promoting local brands,” said Burutsa.
Buy Zimbabwe is driving the produce local and buy local campaign to create jobs, wealth and pride in local products.
