Buy Zimbabwe in partnership with the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe is set to host the highly anticipated Public Procurement Conference and Awards on the 20th of July 2023 in Harare.
According to the organisers, the event will gather prominent business executives from various industries, highlighting and recognizing excellence in public procurement practices.
Buy Zimbabwe General Manager Alois Burutsa said they are gearing up to host the prestigious Public Procurement Conference and Awards which celebrate and acknowledge outstanding achievements in the field of public procurement.
“The Buy Zimbabwe Public Procurement Conference is a leading local gathering of public procurement practitioners, parastatals, state-owned enterprises, and local companies from around Zimbabwe which is penciled for the 20th of July 2023 at the Rainbow Towers and Conference Centre in Harare.
“The Public Procurement Conference is being organized by Buy Zimbabwe in collaboration with the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ), and it will run under the theme ‘Leveraging on Public Procurement to Accelerate Zimbabwe’s Economic Development’.
“It will be emphasizing the role of public procurement in driving the country’s economic growth through creating jobs, wealth, and pride for Zimbabweans,” he said.
Burutsa added that Finance and Economic Development Minister Mthuli Ncube is the invited guest of honour and the event will serve as a platform for business executives, procurement specialists, government officials, and industry experts to engage in meaningful discussions on best practices, challenges, and innovations in the public procurement sector.
The awards segment of the event will recognize and honor organisations and individuals who have demonstrated excellence, integrity, and transparency in their procurement processes.
“The Minister of Finance and Economic Development Professor Mthuli Ncube is the invited guest of honour. Our objective is to advance and share knowledge and best practices in Public Procurement. This annual conference brings privileged networking opportunities with high-level public procurement practitioners and experts.
“The Public Procurement Conference will be held together with Public Procurement Awards which recognize the efforts of public and private buyers to promote and implement innovative procurement by supporting local industry through procuring from local companies,” he said.
